Judge Wizmur was born in Budapest, Hungary on April 16, 1949, daughter to Nathan and Terry Herskovits. She graduated from Douglass College in June 1971. She received her law degree from Rutgers School of Law - Camden in June 1974.

In 1974-1975 she was the law secretary to Honorable Michael Patrick King, Superior Court Judge for Camden county. From 1975 to 1978 she was a solo practitioner in Cherry Hill, including service as a municipal prosecutor. In 1978 she became the Assistant Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles for the State of New Jersey. In January 1982 she was appointed as Administrative Law judge for the State of New Jersey where she was appointed as a judge of Workers' Compensation until her appointment as a Bankruptcy Judge in September 1985.

Judge Wizmur is admitted to the State of New Jersey, State of Pennsylvania, District Court of New Jersey and the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Her publications include Weinberg and Wizmur, Vendor Payments for Shelter and Wizmur, Vendor Payments for Shelter Needs, 1975, Journal of Housing.

She was married to Leonard R. Wizmur in 1972 and they have two children, Dina and Matthew.
